This is the time of year when psychopaths look for new prey. You may even find yourself being approached by a con artist from the past resurfacing to see if there is anything left to pilfer from you, including your life-force energy. Fortunately the modus operandi is always the same and the con will begin with an attempt to gain your pity with stories of how rough it has been since last you spoke and how much he or she has learned and grown from the experiences. It could have been years since you have heard from this person but he or she will act like it was yesterday and may even comment on how it seems like much longer and how he or she has missed you and always loved and admired you.
When efforts at gaining your pity do not work, the psychopath will quickly turn to anger and blaming you for any and all reasons for the fallout in the first place and threaten to never again attempt to make things right with you. He or she may even make other types of threats in an attempt to engender as much fear as possible. The entire relationship will flash before you as the psychopath tail spins and projects every crime he or she has ever ever committed against you onto you by accusing you of doing what he or she did to you. This is a trap to get you to stay in contact and reclaim the pain he or she originally caused you. Save your energy and do not respond. Reestablish No Contact Ever Again and block the means by which you were contacted.
