The Bridge with Kira live from Roanoke, Defend the Sacred

On June 10, 2017, water protectors, land defenders and pipeline fighters in VA gathered to Defend the Sacred in Roanoke, VA. Organizers, Will Adams and Carolyn Reilly of Bold Alliance invited grassroots people of Virginia to the festival to fight the proposed MVP and ACP pipelines, planned to spoil the sacred mountains and waters of Virginia. Featured are the following guests: Mara Eve Robbins of Preserve Floyd, Whitney Whiting of the End of the Line podcast, Poet T.j. Anderson, Lorne Stockman of Oil Change International, Jayn Avry of Preserve Franklin County, Rick Shingles of Preserve Giles County, Chad Oba of Friends of Buckingham County, Eminent Domain Attorney Henry “Hank Howell III, Adam Fishback of the Veterans Service Corps Virginia, Michael James-Deramo of Blue Ridge Environmental Defense League and Jamshid “Jam” Bakhtiari of Chesapeak Climate Action Network.

The Roanoke times covered the event and the Trail of Tears Dance Troup, featuring Delwin Fiddler .
